FENSA Registered

Thanks to new government building regulations there are minimum standards of energy efficiency that windows, door and conservatories fitted in the UK must meet. The new Building regulations known as “Document L” (J in Scotland) set energy efficiency targets to reduce heat loss from frames and glass to help Great Britain meet the commitments as set out in the Kyoto Agreement relating to energy consumption and green house gases.

To ensure that you fit replacement windows that meet these new standards, the glass and Glazing Federation teamed with other industry bodies to produce FENSA - the Fenestration Self-Assesment Scheme. By choosing us to complete your work we will provide you with a certificate comfirming that your new installation complies with these new regulations.

BSI Standards

BSI British Standards is the UK’s national standards organization that produces standards and information products that promote and share best practice. It serves the interests of a wide range of industry sectors as well as governments, consumers, employees and society overall, to make sure that British, European and international standards are useful, relevant and authoritative.

BSI regularly test our products and we are pleased to say that they all meet and surpass the requirements for the following accreditations;

BS 7412

This standard details the expected performance of pVCU extruded hollow profiles, specifying requirements for raw materials, construction, safety and weather resistance ensuring they meet strict criteria suitable for the intended use.

BS 7413

Covers the corner strength properties of the finished profile after manufacture. It lays down specific requirements for the raw materials, tolerances, colour fastness, impact resistance, appearance and final finish.

BS 7950

This is the improved security performance of casement and tilt and turn windows. The standard details the test methods and criteria which must be met to provide reasonable security against unauthorised forced entry.
